Tess Adams (MA, RYT, LMT #26605, she/her) completed her initial bodywork studies at East West College of the Healing Arts. She offers an integrated form of bodywork that centers deep listening, each individual’s innate capacity to heal, and trauma-informed care. The bedrock of Tess’s approach is strengthened through a dynamic and responsive mix of therapies and techniques including craniosacral therapy (introduced at the end of this page), deep tissue work, myofascial release, neuromuscular re-education, cupping, yoga, and somatic movement. Tess’s offerings range from deceptively subtle to quite obviously deep. They embody the spirit of responding to what is arising with only what is necessary and, perhaps most importantly, invite individuals to awaken to their present moment experience.

Introduction to Craniosacral Therapy
“Changes are more solid and lasting when they occur as part of an organic process of rediscovery rather than as a reflection of contemporary society's desire to see quick results.”
—Anthony P Arnold (author of Rhythm and Touch)
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle and profound approach to healing used to ease pain and improve health holistically by directly affecting the central nervous system. Craniosacral therapy evaluates the motion of cerebrospinal fluid in the dural tube (the membranous sheathing that surrounds the brain and spinal cord) by listening to the craniosacral rhythm throughout the body. Using very light touch, restrictions in the craniosacral rhythm are released—often this is enough to stimulate the body’s own healing mechanisms.
Craniosacral sessions are relaxing at a very deep level and regenerative as they offer change that continues to unravel over time. They also complement and enhance more traditional forms of treatment, like the direct approaches used in therapeutic deep tissue work as well as chiropractic adjustments. In fact, both have been found to be easier and last longer when craniosacral therapy is interwoven as the body’s tissues and nervous system are more ready to release patterns of restriction and holding.
Tess was initially introduced to craniosacral therapy through an osteopath at Pineapple Dance Studios in London. She was immediately taken aback by how this physician’s capacity to listen felt like yoga disguised in a medical degree. Tias Little continued the introduction as Tias has a masterful way of integrating his awareness of the craniosacral system into both movement and stillness practices. Through Tias and the greater Prajna Yoga community, Tess was shepherded to Hugh Milne’s visionary approach. Tess is certified by and pursuing ongoing mentorship with Carol Gray at The Carol Gray Center for CST Studies. Most importantly, Tess learns from each person she works with.
